And sometimes, when Jennifer will reflect on where she started, but just tell her, ‘It’s doesn’t matter where you started, honey, because you’re a doctor now.” But I always tell people that it’s just my pride leaking out of my eyes. “Sometimes I’ll cry when I stop to think about how far she’s come. “She just makes my heart swell with pride,” she said of her daughter. “She helps me out with so many things.”įor her part, Galbraith chased away the praise in typical motherly fashion. “My mother is just the greatest,” Moses said. In addition to continuing to pitch in on baby-sitting duties for Moses’ youngest child, her mother, Linda Galbraith, also handles a fair bit of responsibilities around the office, she said.
“I just wouldn’t be where I am today without them,” she said. Still, it could’ve been tougher, though, Moses said, if not for the unfailing support of her parents. It wasn’t until about a year after I finished chiropractic school, when someone mentioned to me that I was the only single parent there, that I stopped and thought, ‘Yeah, I guess that was pretty tough.’ ” “I never felt like I got enough sleep,” she said, “but I also never really thought that what I was doing was a big deal or all that unusual. Part of what it took to make it through that period of her life - and then college and chiropractic school - included staying up until the wee hours of the morning to study before grabbing 39 winks on the living-room floor, Morris said. “Plus, when you’re going through things in life, you just kind of do whatever is necessary to make it through.” “I feel pretty lucky because I’ve always felt very supported by my amazing parents,” said Moses, who’s now the mother of three, including a 3-year-old.
Jennifer Moses became a single mother at the age of 18 more than 20 years ago, it took a loving support system provided by her own parents to straighten out a life that easily could’ve taken a curve for the worst.īut back then, Moses, now the owner and operator of Naples Abundant Health Chiropractic in the Greentree Plaza on Immokalee Road, didn’t understand just how difficult she had it.
